Coming to a computer screen near you!

Dear DIVA Community,

Last year, I began work on a documentary about three teams participating in Destination ImagiNation in Virginia. Several months have passed since filming for the film was completed. Many hours have been spent cutting together the footage to tell the story of the teams participating in the project. I am proud to announce that the film has finally been completed!

In order to share this project with the community, every week I will be posting a short two to three minute episode to my blog, The Discovery of Duct Tape for everyone to view. An episode will be posted every week leading up to Global Finals. I will also continue to post informative videos on different aspects of the program.

I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this project, I would never have been able to complete it without the support of the Virginia DI community, especially the teams that volunteered to be featured in the project.

What does a challenge solution look like?

New to DI? A little confused on how all the duct tape, glitter, glue card board and trash comes together for competition? Look no further.

There is a brief explanation of what the challenge perimeters were and a shortened performance. Generally, performances go from about 6 to 8 minutes. For the sake of the internet, the most important parts are highlighted

Hey!

It’s been a while since I have posted but work on the film has been steadily chugging along. We have almost completing wrapped filming minus some establishing shots. Soon the film will be going into sound and color correction after that it’s just about finished. Starting in September, I plan to release one short video every month until the film is 100% finished.

Appraisers!

What are Appraisers? Do you know what they do?

For  this week, I wanted to post this video about Appraisers because they have been doing an amazing amount of work these past few weeks and a few people had asked me specifically what Appraisers do. So I hope this helps explain what they are!

What is DI you ask?

Destination ImagiNation is a creative problem solving competition where students from preschool to college learn  problem solving skills, creativity, and teamwork.
