Abbey Hoekzema
Project Director
Abbey Hoekzema is an avid supporter of Destination ImagiNation. Abbey has participated on Secondary and University Level teams that have performed at Global Finals and volunteered at Regional and Affiliate tournaments in Virginia and Indiana. She has also been a volunteer at Global Finals in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Abbey is a senior Marketing and Communications double major at Virginia Tech. This will be her first time producing and directing a long-term project. She has co-produced and directed two shorts, The Final Exam and An Election Story with fellow film students.
Lauren Rossi
This is Virginia Tech alumnus, Lauren Rossi’s first project with Abbey Hoekzema. She assisted with the filming at the Tidewater Regional and Virginia’s Affiliate tournament.
Tauhid Chappell
Tauhid Chappell is a Junior Communications student. He works closely with Planet Blacksburg as a producer for the Weekly News Wrap-Up. Tauhid will be assisting with sound, lighting, and tournament coverage.
Hannah DeLoach
Hannah DeLoach is a junior theatre arts and cinema student. She worked on The Final Exam as a lighting grip. She is one of the broadcast directors for Planet Blacksburg. This will also be her first time working on a documentary. She will be assisting with lighting, sound, and tournament coverage.
